On September 7-8, the CED Women in Corporate Leadership Committee and CED Women Trustees and Fellows convened for the 2023 CED Women's Leadership Retreat at the Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt National Historic Site in Hyde Park, NY. Attendees learned and reflected on Eleanor Roosevelt’s leadership and her remarkable and historic accomplishments as First Lady and an activist and their relevance to today’s leadership demands. Participants heard from scholars about Eleanor’s life and legacy, including Christopher Brick, editor and principal investigator of the Eleanor Roosevelt Papers Project at GWU.
The retreat also included discussions among attendees about leadership and making a greater impact, utilizing the talent and resources of CED to increase the role of women in corporate leadership. This report summarizes the presentations and conclusions from several sessions of the retreat.
